Q: What is a RDI?
A: Well, it stands for ‘Registered Digital Installer’. The licensing body of the RDI state that this scheme will approve the aerial reception industry as a whole and raise standards for TV reception installers all over Britain. Only once an installer has met the strict criteria of the RDI licensing body (RDI-LB) can he be fully qualified as an RDI. The qualifications which must be obtained to become an RDI include completing the NVQ - level 2 ‘Electrical and Electronic Servicing - Signal Reception Path Way’, passing a CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check and passing a course on working at height.
